Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Kansas City, MO is seeking a dedicated material handler with forklift experience for a night shift. The role ensures on-time delivery of materials to designated locations and maintains accurate inventory levels on the shop floor.

You will load, unload, and move pallets, feed production, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Ideal candidates possess a HS diploma or GED, basic English literacy, and at least one month of related experience or training.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform duties.
• One month of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous material handling experience preferred.
• Previous forklift/Hilo driving experience preferred.
• Strong ownership and teamwork mindset; safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Observe and comply with safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements associated with this job description.
• Move levers and pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
• Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area.
• Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
• Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.
• Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device.
• Rotates through all job responsibilities and maintains knowledge and skills to perform job effectively.
• Moves within own and/or other work areas to support plant flow.
