Job summary

Gerdau in Duluth, MN is seeking a Material Handler for a night shift (7pm–7am; 3 nights on/3 nights off). You will operate forklift, overhead crane, and railcar puller to receive, store, and ship materials, with supervision from the Warehouse Supervisor or Team Lead.

Education required is a high school diploma or GED, with certifications for forklift and crane obtainable during orientation. 0–3 months experience preferred; basic torch/welding skills helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; ability to obtain forklift and overhead crane certifications during orientation.
• 0-3 months’ work experience; manufacturing setting and operating forklifts/cranes preferred.
• Basic torch and welding skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, overhead crane, and railcar puller to load/unload raw materials and finished products.
• Transfer finished product from production lines to storage or loading areas and secure for shipment.
• Record material handling data and safety inspections; follow instructions from Warehouse Supervisor or Team Lead.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and coordinate with Production on changes to sizes or grades.
