Job summary

CYM Living LLC seeks an overnight Maintenance Technician to support residential communities in the Chicago market. The role handles after-hours maintenance, responds to work orders, and ensures properties stay safe and compliant.

Ideal candidates have experience in residential maintenance, basic HVAC and electrical knowledge, and the ability to work independently while communicating with supervisors and property teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous residential maintenance or property management experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and general repair.
• Ability to troubleshoot and complete routine repairs independently.
• AppFolio experience a plus; familiarity with mobile work order systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance work orders within established timeframes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and general repair issues.
• Document work performed, time, notes, and photos in AppFolio.
• Create and close work orders for deficiencies identified on site.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled.
• Prepare units for inspections and navigate occupied unit entry procedures.
• Communicate progress with residents clearly and professionally.
• Participate in overnight on-call rotation and after-hours emergencies.
• Travel between properties within the Chicago market.
• Lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather; use PPE.
