Job summary

Saint-Gobain in Claremont, NC seeks a Maintenance Shift Technician to support the maintenance organization and ensure plant equipment runs reliably on a 12-hour night shift (2-2-3 rotation, every other weekend).

The role collaborates with maintenance and production teams to implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs, manage critical spares, and drive improvements within a World Class Manufacturing framework while upholding safety and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical or electrical knowledge.
• Knowledge of plant equipment operation and maintenance requirements.
• Knowledge of Preventive and Predictive maintenance practices.
• Highly engaged in World Class Manufacturing processes and improvements.
• Strong interpersonal skills; strong written and verbal communication.
• Strong computer skills (Outlook and Excel).
• Must demonstrate good housekeeping skills for a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all plant equipment is maintained and reliable; verify proper operation to meet department needs.
• Handle reactive maintenance requirements across departments.
• Identify reliability issues and support corrective action plans.
• Develop critical spares lists and stocking levels for equipment.
• Work with Leadership to integrate preventive and predictive maintenance into CMMS.
• Participate in skill training improvement plans.
• Support process improvement initiatives across departments.
• Contribute to safety and housekeeping programs.
• Adjust work schedules to align with equipment availability and training.
