Job summary

Abbott in Casa Grande, AZ, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 12-hour night shift (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) in the Nutrition manufacturing plant. You will keep high-speed production equipment running, troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation, and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

The role requires a Technical Diploma and 1+ years in manufacturing maintenance. You’ll collaborate with engineers to implement design changes while complying with GMP, FDA, OSHA standards and

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma (± 12 years)
• 1+ years of mechanical/electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation
• Ability to read schematics, wire diagrams, and use precision tools
• Welding and fabrication experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Keep equipment running and troubleshoot high-speed production equipment and plant utility systems.
• Install and repair electric motors, wiring, fuses, and motor protection systems; troubleshoot PLCs using schematics and diagnostic tools.
• Replace seals, bearings, gears, belts; perform calibrations and preventive maintenance on sensors, motors, and control devices.
• Weld stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum; fabricate guards and parts using lathes, mills, and plasma cutters.
• Use thermography, ultrasonic testing, and vibration analysis to prevent failures.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to implement design changes and improve operator care initiatives.
• Follow GMP, FDA, USDA, OSHA, and company safety standards, including LOTO and 5S protocols.
