Job summary

Abbott is hiring a Maintenance Technician for the 12-hour night shift at our Casa Grande, AZ site. You will diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems to keep production lines running safely and efficiently.

Expect to work with PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and welding as needed, with a focus on Preventive Maintenance and continuous improvement within a world-class nutrition manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma in a related field.
• At least 1 year of mechanical/electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation.
• Ability to read schematics, wire diagrams, and use precision tools.
• Welding and fabrication experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Keep equipment running; repair and troubleshoot high-speed production equipment and plant utility systems.
• Install and repair electric motors, wiring, fuses, and motor protection systems; troubleshoot AC drive systems and PLCs.
• Replace seals, bearings, gears, belts; perform calibrations and preventive maintenance.
• Weld stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum; fabricate guards and parts.
• Use thermography, ultrasonic testing, and vibration analysis to prevent failures.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to implement design changes.
• Follow GMP, FDA, USDA, OSHA, and company safety standards including LOTO and 5S.
