Abbott in Casa Grande, AZ is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 12-hour night shift to support the Nutrition manufacturing line.

You will repair high-speed equipment, install motors and wiring, and perform preventive maintenance while adhering to GMP, FDA, OSHA guidelines and Abbott policies.

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma is required.
• 1+ years of mechanical/electrical maintenance in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation (pressure, flow, temp, etc.).
• Ability to read schematics, wire diagrams, and use precision tools.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.

What You'll Work On:

• Keep Equipment Running: Perform repairs and troubleshoot high-speed production equipment and plant utility systems, including dryers, fillers, case packers, palletizers, sleevers, and labelers.
• Electrical Expertise: Install and repair electric motors, wiring, fuses, and motor protection systems; troubleshoot AC drive systems and PLCs using schematics and diagnostic tools.
• Precision Maintenance: Replace seals, bearings, gears, belts, and other components; perform calibrations and preventive maintenance on sensors, motors, and control devices.
• Fabrication & Welding: Weld stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum; fabricate guards and parts using lathes, mills, and plasma cutters.
• Predictive Maintenance: Use advanced tools like thermography, ultrasonic testing, and vibration analysis to prevent failures.
• Collaborate & Improve: Work with engineering and operations to implement design changes and improve operator care initiatives.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow GMP, FDA, USDA, OSHA, and company safety standards, including LOTO and 5S protocols.

Required Qualifications:

Technical Diploma (± 12 years)

• 1+ years of mechanical/electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature, etc.).
• Ability to read schematics, wire diagrams, and use precision tools.
• Welding and fabrication experience a plus.

Shift: 12-hour Night Shift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)

Schedule: Enjoy every other weekend off with a consistent 4-week rotation:

Sample Rotation:

• Week 1: Wed & Thurs (12 hrs)
• Week 2: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun (12 hrs)
• Week 3: Same as Week 1
• Week 4: Same as Week 2
