Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese in Ohio is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to ensure maximum operating efficiency, maintaining and repairing production line equipment and facility systems.

You will troubleshoot, service electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, weld with TIG/MIG/Stick, read schematics and work with PLCs; experience in food manufacturing and ammonia systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and/or commensurate experience.
• 3 years of maintenance experience and/or training or more.
• Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and understand schematics, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic drawings.
• Advanced electrical knowledge/training.
• Advanced understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to weld (TIG, MIG and Stick).
• Advanced knowledge of PLCs and ability to troubleshoot these systems.
• Familiarity with OSHA requirements.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Required Education and Experience

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and/or commensurate experience.
• 3 years of maintenance experience and/or training or more.
• Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to make decisions based on standard practices.
• Broad depth of experience and knowledge of production machinery and equipment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Advanced electrical knowledge/training.
• Advanced understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to weld (TIG, MIG and Stick).
• Advanced knowledge of PLCs and ability to troubleshoot these systems.
• Ability to read and understand schematics, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic drawings.
• Familiarity with OSHA requirements.
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Three years of experience in a food manufacturing environment or more.
• Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems / PSM.
• SAP experience.

Working Conditions

• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
• Product weight: up to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
