Job summary

Amcor is seeking a maintenance technician in Sterling, MA to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on blown film extrusion equipment. You will diagnose, repair, and rebuild mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components to maximize uptime and product quality.

The role requires reading schematics, PLC troubleshooting, and strong safety discipline, with focus on continuous improvement and teamwork in a heavy manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical maintenance training preferred.
• 3–5 years industrial maintenance experience in plastics/extrusion environments.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to 5S and LOTO procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures including LOTO and machine guarding.
• Maintain clean, organized work area per 5S standards.
• Diagnose, repair, and rebuild mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems on extrusion equipment.
• Perform preventive, predictive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Document maintenance activities in the CMMS.
• Assist with troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
• Repair and replace pumps, motors, valves, bearings, rollers, and other components.
• Support facility maintenance like HVAC and compressors.
