Job summary

Behr Iron & Metal, an Alter Trading Corporation Company, seeks a Maintenance Technician in South Beloit, IL to maintain and improve the NFR plant on the night shift. The role focuses on keeping equipment efficient and operational with a Monday–Friday, 10-hour shift pattern and a planned maintenance day on Fridays.

Responsibilities include maintaining conveyors and motor/gearbox assemblies, performing PMs, and troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Interpersonal skills to oversee and direct work when required.
• Familiarity with yard vehicles, forklift, loaders, and material separators a definite plus.
• Organizational skills.
• Welding (stick) and fabricating skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the Non Ferrous Recovery plant to keep it efficient and operational on the night shift.
• Maintain conveyors and motor/gearbox assemblies; perform PMs on stationary equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, valves, cylinders, bearings, and electric motors.
• Prepare maintenance records and daily reports; order parts as needed.
• May assist with welding, fabrication and electrical repairs.
