Behr Iron & Metal, an Alter Trading Corporation Company, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its South Beloit, IL location. The role covers the Non Ferrous Recovery plant with a Monday–Friday, 10-hour night shift, focusing on maintaining conveyors, motors and gear boxes to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Welding (stick) and fabrication skills required.
• Familiarity with yard vehicles such as forklifts and loaders is a plus.
• Knowledge of conveyors and plant equipment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the NFR plant to keep it efficient and operational.
• Perform PMs on downstream sorting lines, conveyors and machines.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic and electric systems, PLCs and motors.
• Manage maintenance records and daily reports.
