Job summary

Schwan's Company is seeking a maintenance technician for the 3rd shift (10:00 pm – 6:30 am) in a food manufacturing environment. You will conduct preventive maintenance on conveyor systems and production machinery to minimize downtime and ensure reliable operation.

You will perform complex mechanical repairs, assist with setup and installation, diagnose issues with precision tools, and document activities in SAP to keep the team aligned and productive.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 3+ years of related maintenance experience.
• Ability to perform complex mechanical repairs and troubleshoot equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery to support production needs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, auditory assessment, and use of precision measuring instruments, and effectively identifying and resolving root causes.
• Utilize SAP software to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate effectively with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.
