Job summary

Schwan's is seeking a skilled maintenance mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on food production machinery. You will troubleshoot conveyors, perform complex mechanical tasks, and support equipment setup and installation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 3+ years of related maintenance experience.
• Ability to work varied hours including overtime and weekends.
• Basic to advanced mechanical knowledge with electrical and building skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyors and production machinery to minimize downtime.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, welding, hydraulic hose fabrication and belt maintenance.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication and installation of plant machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation and measurements to identify root causes.
• Use SAP to document maintenance activities, track work orders and coordinate with teams.
