Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Maintenance Tech for the 11pm–7am shift in Michigan. You will perform mechanical, electrical and electronic maintenance of facility and equipment, troubleshoot electrical problems and machine controls, and fabricate parts as needed.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, electrical technology/machine control training, and at least three years' experience. State license preferred; overtime may be required. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

Must have high school diploma or GED.
Training/certification in electrical technology or machine control fields.
Minimum three years' experience in electrical machine control repair or design.
Michigan electrical license preferred.
Ability to read schematics, prints, ladder diagrams and drawings.
Know-how with sensors, hand tools, AC/DC motors and PLCs.
Basic electrical and mechanical safety training.

Responsibilities

Performs general mechanical, electrical and electronic maintenance of facility and equipment.
Troubleshoots and repairs electrical problems and machine controls.
Troubleshoots motors, pumps, compressors and related systems.
Performs mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance of equipment.
Fabricates items with basic welding, brazing and cutting.
Uses rulers, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
Operates machine tools to repair or fabricate parts and fixtures.
Runs conduit and pulls wire; operates scissor lifts and forklifts.
Maintains maintenance records; supports recycling programs.
Overtime as needed; ensures safe, efficient work per company policy.
