Job summary

ProAmpac in Walden, NY is seeking a Production/Maintenance-oriented team member for a 12-hour night shift. You will adhere to safety rules, monitor quality metrics, and support continuous improvement across the production line.

You will troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, assist with operator training, and help maximize daily output while minimizing waste. A strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to work Saturdays are required.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Must be able to stand for a 12-hour shift.
• Willing to work Saturdays as needed.
• Adhere to safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Understand and follow product quality metrics.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and enforce all safety rules and lock out procedures.
• Ensure understanding and adherence to all product quality metrics.
• Check guards are in place and functional at all times.
• Troubleshoot and repair most mechanical breakdowns and adjustments.
• Assist with and/or lead preventive maintenance as needed.
• Backfill for production supervisor as needed.
• Identify and execute opportunities to improve daily production rate while minimizing waste.
• Check daily lubrication on equipment and enforce it.
• Provide first aid/assistance when needed.
• Assist operators when machines are down to minimize waste and downtime.
• Keep personnel busy when machines are down.
• Run any machine when necessary.
• Continuously improve your skillset.
• Coach operators on tasks within their skillset and expectations.
• Assist with training by working with operators during issues or maintenance.
