Job summary

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences, seeks an Electrical/Instrumentation Technician for its New Century, KS site. This on-site role supports safe, reliable production through hands-on maintenance of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, calibrating instrumentation, and documenting maintenance actions while working the permanent night shift (Wed–Sun, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical training in Electrical, Instrumentation, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics or related field preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical and instrumentation systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of PLC systems, electrical controls, sensors, instrumentation, motor controls, and process automation equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control drawings, and P&IDs.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance, calibration, and equipment inspections.
• Understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; able to work independently.
• Proficiency using CMMS and maintaining maintenance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems throughout the facility.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, PLC-controlled systems, instrumentation, sensors, motors, drives, and related devices.
• Calibrate, tune, install, and commission instrumentation and process control equipment for optimal operation.
• Support production by diagnosing equipment failures and recommending corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation including work orders, records, and parts usage.
• Update drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and maintenance records to reflect changes.
