Job summary

International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) is seeking a maintenance technician for its New Century, KS facility. This on-site role focuses on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems in a modern manufacturing environment.

You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot PLCs, calibrate instrumentation, and uphold safety and quality programs. The position requires technical training and strong problem-solving abilities, with a permanent night shift

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required; technical training preferred.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical and instrumentation systems in manufacturing.
Knowledge of PLCs, electrical controls, sensors, instrumentation, motor controls, and process automation.
Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control drawings, and P&IDs.
Experience with preventive maintenance, calibration, and inspections.
Understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Strong problem-solving and ability to work independently.
Proficient CMMS usage and maintenance documentation.
Willingness to work permanent night shift: Wed–Sun, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, PLC-controlled systems, instrumentation, sensors, motors, drives, and related controls.
Calibrate, tune, install, and commission instrumentation and process control equipment.
Support production by diagnosing equipment failures and recommending corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, including work orders, calibration records, spare parts usage, and history files.
Update electrical drawings, control schematics, P&IDs, and maintenance records to reflect changes.
Assist with mechanical repairs and inspections involving pneumatic and hydraulic systems as required.
Promote a safe work environment and support food safety and quality programs.
Communicate maintenance priorities, pending repairs, and shift handoffs with team and management.
