Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II for Night shift at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Experienced maintenance generalist will perform preventive maintenance, inspect, repair, and overhaul equipment and facilities.

You will work with facility staff to prioritize work orders, use hand and power tools, document records, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Must have a high school diploma and three years in maintenance; Virginia driver's license preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade/vocational maintenance curriculum preferred.
• Three years of maintenance experience needed; on-the-job training acceptable.
• Virginia driver's license preferred for hospital properties; valid licensure may be required.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to read work orders and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and intermediate mechanical maintenance, inspections, servicing, repair and overhaul of equipment and facilities.
• Investigate repair needs, prioritize work orders, procure supplies, and apply proper techniques.
• Use hand and power tools and precision instruments; repair or replace defective devices and controls.
• Document records and comply with manuals, blueprints, and regulatory requirements.
• Stay updated on practices to maintain regulatory compliance and recommend improvements.
