Job summary

BioMarin's Technical Operations group is seeking a Grave Shift Maintenance Mechanic for a Sun–Wed 8:30 PM–7:00 AM schedule (4/10 hour days) in Novato, CA. You will operate, maintain, and repair a wide range of building and process equipment, ensuring GMP compliance and documenting all activities.

You will perform planned inspections, start-up new systems, train staff, and coordinate with Quality Control, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Sciences while using CMMS/BMS and adhering to OSHA safety

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair a wide variety of building and process equipment, HVAC, plant and clean steam, process gases, waste systems, RO/DI and UPW water system, and environmental chambers.
• Perform planned inspections, maintenance, repairs, and lift up to 50 lbs as required.
• Execute mechanical projects including plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
• Create or review maintenance-related Work Instructions and SOPs.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance work orders and CMMS entries.
• Identify mechanical problems and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain GMP and department procedure compliance and accurate records.
• Start-up new mechanical systems and train others in repair techniques.
• Troubleshoot, evaluate, and repair complex equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance with Quality Control, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Sciences.
• Provide back-up to Lead Maintenance Mechanic and supervise Building Technicians.
• Plan and schedule service orders across multiple disciplines.
• Coordinate interdepartmentally as a single point of contact for facilities issues.
• Order parts and respond to equipment alarms.
• Utilize CMMS and Building Management System (BMS).
• Maintain safety standards per company and OSHA requirements.
• Assist in other projects as assigned.
