Oldcastle APG, Inc. is seeking a Night Shift Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyors, welding operations, and associated tooling.

The role emphasizes safe, timely repairs and adherence to maintenance programs. Responsibilities include testing, repairing, and maintaining equipment, reading manuals, and coordinating with the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical or vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals and schematics.
• Team player with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and machines.
• Use hand and power tools to repair, grease parts and replace components.
• Perform welding, torching and light machining as required.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on plant structures and equipment.
• Keep work area clean and organized at all times.
• Test malfunctioning machinery and troubleshoot to restore operation.
• Install electrical components and verify proper function.
• Dismantle equipment to access defective parts using hoists/cranes.
• Replace and install worn parts; lubricate moving components.
• Handle tasks as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or plant personnel.
• Support mobile mechanic and plant staff as needed.

Job Summary

As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic on the night shift, this role is responsible for overall preventive and predictive maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, and machinery as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, including work on hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyor systems, welding/torch cutting, light machining, lubrication, and mechanical/electrical components. Other responsibilities may include assisting the mobile mechanic or plant personnel.

Job Responsibilities

• Install, adjust, and repair production equipment, and special purpose machines as assigned
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, change parts, and complete tasks as assigned
• Welding, torching, and light machining as required
• Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance to plant structures
• Keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs, and follow through with these repairs to assure proper operation of equipment in a safe, timely manner
• Install equipment and/or electrical components and test to ensure proper functioning
• Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools
• Replace and install parts as needed
• Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure proper operation
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Job Requirements

• High school diploma/equivalent, or comparable in training, education, or experience
• Technical or vocational school certification or equivalent in training or experience
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and operations manuals and follow step by step instructions
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, belting, mechanics, electricity, carpentry, or related field preferred
• Be able to work with a team or independently
• Full understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance programs
