Job summary

Abbott Park, IL–Abbott is seeking a Maintenance Group Leader for the GES Global Engineering Services division. This on-site role combines 70% hands-on mechanical work with 30% leadership of a night-shift maintenance team.

You will support utilities operations, coordinate work, review workload, and ensure safe, reliable operation of plant facilities. Ideal candidates have 6+ years in maintenance, strong communication, and familiarity with Maximo and related maintenance tools.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in maintenance or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of maintenance management systems (Maximo) and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on mechanical work as a primary duty and 30% group leadership.
• Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on motors and related systems.
• Coordinate daily assignments and resources for shifts and ensure documentation.
• Lead Daily Business Review (DBR) and monitor KPIs and workload.
• Provide coaching and training to mechanics and ensure safety and quality standards.
