Job summary

Tyson Foods in Waverly, Nebraska seeks a skilled maintenance technician to troubleshoot, repair and support all phases of operations. The role includes preventative maintenance and working with electrical and mechanical systems to keep production moving.

Candidates should have an associates degree in a technical field, strong troubleshooting skills, PLC knowledge, and the ability to work independently on rotating two- and three-day schedules. Shift options include B shift with a 12-hour rotation.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Mechanics/Automotive or Electrical Technology preferred.
• Through knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Experience with AC/DC circuits and industrial electrical systems.
• Knowledge of PLCs, motor drives and control systems.
• Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety.

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment and machines for optimal performance during production.
• Adjust machines per maintenance schedule and manuals.
• Inspect and troubleshoot to detect malfunctions.
• Replace parts to restore machine operation.
• Lubricate fittings and perform preventive maintenance tasks.
• Complete work orders in a timely manner and follow safety rules.
• Communicate effectively with the maintenance team.
• Support other duties as assigned.
