Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Maintenance Generalist for the D-Shift (Nights) at the Forest, Mississippi plant. The role involves general maintenance across the facility, adhering to Tyson policies and procedures, and rotating tasks as needed to support production.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of maintenance/welding experience, and ability to read schematics, operate power tools, and communicate effectively. This on-site position offers growth through company training and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to use basic hand tools.
• Requires basic mechanical or maintenance skills, knowledge in welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics & plumbing.
• 1 year or more experience in welding and industrial maintenance.
• Ability to read & understand assignments, communicate orally & in writing.
• Ability to hear/respond to two-way radio.
• Able to lift 50 pounds; climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet; stand for long periods.
• Able to work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather & odors.
• Basic knowledge of math; able to use electrical & pneumatic power tools & equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and promote Tyson safety culture in the plant.
• Receive training as required and perform various maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Welding, minor electrical repair, read drawings/schematics as needed, monitor equipment.
• Willing to further education through outside training and company programs.
