Job summary

Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk, NY is seeking a part-time Maintenance Assistant for the 3rd shift. The role involves routine upkeep, repairs, and preventative maintenance to keep the facility safe and functional.

Pay ranges from $17 to $18.87 per hour, with benefits and opportunities for growth within The McGuire Group network. Responsibilities include completing work orders, handling groundskeeping, and maintaining equipment while adhering to safety standards and care

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of maintenance/cleaning experience; 1 year preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver's License required.
• Knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep.
• Complete work orders including painting, drywall, flooring, plumbing, electrical, ceiling tiles and windows.
• Maintain exterior areas and assist with snow removal and salting.
• Transport trash, soiled linens, and other materials.
• Inspect and maintain equipment including patient lifts and generators.
• Conduct fire drills and safety inspections.
• Report maintenance issues promptly.
• Assist with security and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide transportation using facility vehicles when assigned.
