Union Electric Steel Corporation is seeking a shift supervisor to oversee daily machine shop production, workflow scheduling, and personnel on the third shift (1:00 PM–7:00 AM). The role ensures safety, quality, and efficiency in a unionized environment.

The candidate will coordinate with the Superintendent, review production issues, manage resources, and maintain records in Oracle. Strong leadership and teamwork skills are essential.

• Ability to interpret and schedule according to union contract guidelines.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and guidance.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Supervises daily machine shop floor activities and allocates resources.
• Collaborates with the Superintendent to review production, quality control, and maintenance issues.
• Ensures adherence to safety, procedures, and training requirements.
• Checks initial rolls of items to avoid manufacturing errors.
• Partners with maintenance to resolve equipment issues.
• Records manufacturing activities in the Oracle system and analyzes variances.
• Coordinates with programmers on CNC issues and changes.
• Maintains gauge records and machine calibration records.
• Manages machine shop consumables and supplies.
• Implements NCR corrective actions including retraining hourly operators.
• Liaises with union and employees to maintain positive union relations.
• Monitors hourly employee training progression.
