UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator I for the night shift in Buffalo, NY. You will safely operate and monitor automated production equipment, handle materials, and perform quality checks to ensure smooth line flow.

Responsibilities include responding to alarms, maintaining documentation, and assisting with training of new operators while adhering to safety and continuous improvement practices.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience in production, assembly, automated equipment or similar.
• Ability to read and follow written/verbal instructions and complete production documentation.
• Basic math and measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor automated production equipment (e.g., saws, stackers, ovens/cure processes, conveyors, automated handling systems) per SOPs.
• Monitor HMI/control screens, setpoints, and alarms; make routine adjustments and escalate as needed.
• Load/unload materials and maintain correct supplies for continuous production.
• Perform start-up/shutdown and routine equipment checks; document production data, downtime, and quality results.
• Conduct quality inspections and random checks to verify specs.
• Stack, label, band, and prepare finished product per standards and customer requirements.
• Identify and report issues; collaborate with Maintenance and Leads for troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area; participate in safety and continuous improvement meetings.
