Job summary

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide essential nursing care under the supervision of RNs in the Swing Bed program. You will assess patients, administer medications, implement care plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote safe, high-quality care.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, documentation, patient education, and ensuring infection control and safety protocols. LPN/LVN licensure and BCLS are required; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience as an LPN in a healthcare setting required.
• LPN/LVN license with state licensure required.
• BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of an RN in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Conducts focused patient assessments and reports changes to the team.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed per safety protocols.
• Maintains accurate documentation of patient care and observations.
• Educates patients and families on health maintenance and post-discharge care.
• Performs basic procedures such as wound care and catheterization within scope of practice.
