Job summary

Carlyle House, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse for night shift supervision and patient care.

You will deliver safe nursing care from admission to discharge in collaboration with the physician and family, using the nursing process to optimize residents' physical and mental function. Responsibilities include bedside care, vital signs, injections, wound care, hygiene assistance, and health teaching, all while adhering to facility policies and OSHA safety rules.

Responsibilities

Job description

Night Shift LPN Overview:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is accountable for the delivery of safe and therapeutic resident care from admission through discharge in collaboration with the physician, family and other members of the multi-disciplinary health care team. Delivery of quality nursing care is assured through utilization of the nursing process. The goal of resident care shall be toward restoring and maintaining each resident's capabilities at their maximum mental and physical level. Serves as a positive clinical role model for staff as well as a resource person. Supports the philosophy, mission and core values of The Carlyle House. This is a night shift 7pm-7am position.

Physical Requirements:

This position demands good physical and mental health. The nurse aid will be required to lift, catty, walk, sit, push, pull and work a flexible schedule, must be able to move continuously during work hours and able to lift and/or carry 50 pounds.

Duties:

• Provides basic bedside care
• Maintains comfortable, orderly, safe and clean environment for patients
• Measures & records patients' vital signs (such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration)
• Assists with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene of patient Prepares and gives injections and enemas
• Records food/fluid input/output
• Dresses wounds
• Assists with bed positioning, standing and walking of patients
• Collects samples for testing
• Performs routine laboratory tests as directed by supervisor
• Records prescribed medications.
• Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed practical nurse
• Assists in relevant health teaching for patient and family/significant other
• Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting
• Completes required orientation as directed by facility
• Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
