Job summary

You will collaborate with physicians and the nursing team, assess patients, monitor vitals, and support families during treatment; prior oncology/renal care experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Active Michigan LPN license is required.
• Minimum of one year of medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation.
• Strong knowledge of medication administration and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to renal oncology patients and monitor vital signs.
• Administer medications and document accurately per safety protocols.
• Assist with hygiene, mobility, and daily living activities while preserving dignity.
• Maintain IV lines, catheters, and related equipment for renal oncology patients.
• Collect lab specimens and document results appropriately.
• Communicate care plans and patient updates to families and team.
• Ensure accurate EHR documentation for all patient interactions.
• Support emotionally and develop individualized care plans with the team.
• Respond to call lights promptly and prioritize needs.
• Adhere to infection control and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
