Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group – North Iowa in Mason City, IA seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for a part-time role on the 12-hour night shift. The LPN will provide patient care under RN supervision and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, contributing to care plans, supporting discharge planning, teaching patients and families, and participating in meetings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program is required.
• Current LPN licensure in the state of Iowa is required.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.

Responsibilities

• Assists in assessing and evaluating patient needs and documents responses while working with the multidisciplinary team.
• Assists in developing and implementing the plan of care including discharge planning based on standards of nursing practice.
• Provides and facilitates learning opportunities to meet educational needs of patient/family based on the plan created by the RN.
• Adapts to the changing health care environment and supports new technology and processes.
• Communicates pertinent patient changes to the RN and team.
• Attends departmental meetings and participates in educational opportunities.
• Supports staffing needs and utilizes resources to meet productivity expectations.
• Participates in process improvement teams to enhance patient care and outcomes.
