Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a part-time, 12-hour night shift. The LPN provides patient care under RN supervision and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, contributing to the plan of care and discharge planning, and facilitating patient/family education while adapting to changes and maintaining professionalism.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Current LPN licensure in the state of Iowa.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and flex to department needs.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document patients’ physical, psychosocial, environmental needs and responses to nursing interventions.
• Develop and implement the care plan including discharge planning per policies.
• Provide learning opportunities to meet patient/family education needs.
• Adapt to changes in the health care environment and support new processes.
• Communicate patient changes to the RN and multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in meetings and support staffing and resource needs.
