Job summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting.
Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program and obtain LPN license.
- Associate degree in practical nursing preferred.
- IV therapy/management training per North Dakota Board of Nursing if required.
- Currently holds an unencumbered LPN license with the state nursing board and maintains required CEUs.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care under supervision of RN, APRN or physician.
- Assess, administer medications or treatments as ordered, document outcomes.
- Maintain confidentiality and communicate clearly with residents, families and the care team.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team to plan and evaluate resident care.
