Job summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provided by Good Samaritan Society Loveland delivers professional nursing care to residents in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles and conducts required testing and medication administration as ordered.

Collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team, the LPN maintains confidentiality and supports resident education and self-care plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as an LPN.
• Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
• Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span or have had a minimum of 400 hours as LPN.
• Currently holds an unencumbered LPN license with State Nursing board.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to residents in long-term care under supervision of a RN/physician.
• Administer medications or treatments as ordered and document outcomes.
• Work effectively with an interdisciplinary care team and maintain confidentiality.
• Counsel residents and families on prevention and treatment plans; support self-care education.
