Job summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Good Samaritan Canistota provides professional nursing care to residents in a long term care setting under supervision. You will perform assessments, administer medications and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure compassionate, quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
• Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility.
• Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi‑state licensure privileges.
• Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for residents in long term care.
• Document resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
• Contribute to the assessment of residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
• Collaborate with health care professionals as needed and participate in an interdisciplinary care team.
