Job summary

StoneBridge Senior Living in De Soto, MO is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our caring medical team. You will provide basic patient care and help assess residents' wellbeing as part of a larger team dedicated to compassionate elder care.

This full-time position emphasizes patience, empathy, and reliable medication administration, with duties spanning from coordinating nursing care to documenting treatments per physician orders.

Qualifications

• Must have a current state license to practice as an LPN.
• Current CPR certification and additional nursing specialty certification desired.
• Demonstrates knowledge of basic nursing practice with an interest in gerontological nursing.
• Prefer 2 years’ experience in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates nursing care for residents, ensuring each is assigned a nurse aide capable of providing care.
• Uses independent judgment and discretion in performing duties.
• Provides safe and accurate medication-related interventions to residents.
• Administers and documents medications per resident’s schedule.
• Understands medication effects and administers treatments correctly.
• Provides treatments per physician orders, including wound care and catheterization.
• Orders and receives medications from the pharmacy.
• Maintains accurate narcotics accountability and signs for counts.
• Responds to pain intervention requests and documents.
• Transcribes and coordinates physician orders for implementation.
• Performs nursing assessments of residents’ health status.
• Notifies physician of changes in status and implements new orders.
• Prepares work assignments considering resident safety and staff capabilities.
• Reports staff shortages to nursing management.
• Participates in employee actions that may result in rewards or discipline.
