Qualifications

• Must hold a current state LPN license and CPR certification.
• Experience in gerontological nursing preferred.
• 2 years’ experience in long-term care suggested.
• Basic computer skills and EMR use preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the nursing care of residents on the unit ensuring each resident is assigned a nurse aide capable of providing care.
• Uses independent judgment and discretion in performing duties.
• Provides safe and accurate medication-related interventions.
• Administers and documents medications and treatments per schedule.
• Knows the rationale for effects of medications and treatments and applies them correctly.
• Performs nursing assessments and notifies physician of status changes.
• Prepares work assignment sheets considering safety and staff capabilities.
• Reports staff shortages to nursing management.
• Participates in and communicates employee actions related to rewards or discipline.
