Job summary

Sycamore Heights is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide bedside care in a long-term care setting in Louisville. You will record vital signs, administer medications, assist with hygiene, wound care, and communicate with RNs and physicians to ensure high-quality patient care.

Active LPN license is required; 1+ year LT care experience is preferred. We offer daily pay, tuition reimbursement, quarterly raises, and opportunities to win trips or receive extra benefits for shift coverage.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in the state.
• At least one year of LPN experience in a long-term care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care to patients, including personal hygiene maintenance.
• Record the patients’ vital signs (including blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate).
• Collect patient’s health information.
• Relay information between patients, registered nurses, and physicians.
• Give oral medications and injections to patients.
• Test a patient’s blood sugar levels.
• Urinary catheter insertion and care.
• Wound care and dressing change.
• Assist patients with personal hygiene.
• Monitor for changes in patients.
• Proper charting, documentation, and maintenance of patients’ medical records.
• Asks questions when in doubt for clarification by the Registered Nurse.
• Acts as a role model for ancillary personnel.
• Maintains the confidentiality of the patient’s clinical records.
• Exceptional staff training and customer service skills
