Job summary

Friends of Switchpoint is seeking a Graves shift lead to manage 11 pm–7 am coverage and weekend staffing. The role emphasizes resident support, safety, and adherence to policies while maintaining positive team dynamics in a compassionate environment.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating schedules, logging daily activities, and ensuring high-quality notes. The position requires experience with mental health clients, leadership ability, and a Utah driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience working with clients who struggle with mental health.
• Knowledge of domestic violence, mental health, and substance abuse issues.
• Experience leading a team is preferred.
• Exhibits a positive and compassionate attitude, sensitivity, and the ability to work well with others in a close residential setting.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and Google Docs.
• Possesses valid Utah State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Understand and implement Switchpoint’s mission and values, and adhere to the Staff Code of Conduct and policies and procedures.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all residents of the facility.
• Keep a daily log of occurrences within the facility on each shift.
• Make notes of any special requirements and needs that guests may have, and coordinate with management to meet those needs.
• Update maintenance log with resident requests and coordinate with maintenance staff.
• Actively listen to residents and address needs reasonably and appropriately.
• Reconcile and report any monetary funds, petty cash and other expenditures daily.
• Report resident concerns to the Director/Manager and/or leadership team.
• Demonstrate a passion for customer service through interactions with staff, residents, and the community.
• May include laundry duties and light cleaning.
• Monitor cameras and log activity; perform perimeter checks for safety.
• Handle security issues by contacting dispatch or emergency services.
• May be required to lift 50 lbs periodically.
• Create weekly schedules to balance hours for Part-time and Full-time staff.
• Minimize overtime; assign daily tasks; ensure high quality notes and conduct.
• Communicate with the Program Director regularly.
• Take ownership of shifts and foster a positive workflow.
• Promote Switchpoint Culture and Values on shifts.
• Work cooperatively with other shifts and cover gaps as needed.
