Job summary

MaineFlame is seeking a Lead Operator in Ashland, Maine to manage the safe and efficient operation of mobile and production equipment. This role includes supervising on-site personnel, assisting with site cleanup, and coordinating loading and unloading of trucks during shifts.

The Senior Operator will also provide downtime and production summaries, train new staff, and ensure DEP/OSHA compliance. The position requires strong leadership and hands-on equipment expertise.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; college preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years in a wood production facility.
• 1–2 years operating manufacturing equipment from a control system.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Train new employees in safe operation of equipment.
• Provide production and downtime summaries and logs at shift end.
• Lead for fixing/repairing equipment during plant operation.
