Job summary

UC Irvine's Student Center is seeking a Lead Custodian to supervise custodial staff, operate diverse cleaning equipment, and ensure all areas meet university standards. You will assist with furniture setup for events and maintain security with master keys.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and prior custodial experience, including night shifts. Expect a 5-day schedule, potential weekends, and a pay rate of $31.25 per hour with opportunities within UCI's extensive facilities and

Qualifications

• Lead small work groups and supervise custodians.
• Clearly communicate work instructions from supervisor to custodial staff.
• General custodial experience with restroom, carpet and hard floor care.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Excellent people skills and ability to work with the public.

Responsibilities

• Lead custodians and direct custodial staff in the supervisor's absence.
• Operate a wide range of cleaning equipment and ensure areas meet standards.
• Set up and dismantle furniture and equipment for events in the Student Center.
• Maintain area security and manage master keys as needed.
• Read, interpret and follow setup diagrams for conference rooms and lounges.
