Job summary

University of California, Irvine (UCI) is seeking a custodian for Student Housing and facilities. The role involves skilled cleaning, maintenance, and equipment setup across residence halls and units in an on-site environment.

You will operate pressure washers, carpet shampooers and other floor care equipment, with shifts including evenings and weekends. English communication is required, and a background check will be conducted as part of the process.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
• Skilled in using floor care equipment like pressure washers, buffers and carpet shampooers.
• Ability to read and write English for reports and communications.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled and semi-skilled cleaning, housekeeping and general maintenance duties.
• Operate pressure washers, carpet extractors and other floor care equipment.
• Lead a small team of custodians or temporary staff.
• Work evenings, weekends and overtime as needed.
• Maintain security of keys and equipment.
• Drive University vehicle as required.
