Job summary

Meadville Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Medical Technologist/Technician for a full-time third shift role in Meadville, PA. The position requires weekend and holiday rotations.

The incumbent will plan, coordinate, and direct daily laboratory activities, oversee quality control, monitor instrument function and maintenance, and ensure accuracy and timeliness of test results. The role involves performing laboratory tests in the assigned departments, communicating with the Point of Care

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical or biological; OR associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory or equivalent education and training as required by 42CFR493.1489(b).
• Certification with ASCP, AMT, or one of the national registering bodies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates and directs the daily activities in the assigned department.
• Oversees quality control and monitors instrument function and maintenance.
• Ensures accuracy and timeliness of test results and performs laboratory tests following approved procedures.
• Works with the Point of Care Coordinator and supports the clinical and microbiology departments.
