Job summary

AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join its laboratory team on the Night shift. This full-time role works 2200-0630, Monday through Friday, at 601 E Rollins Street, Orlando, FL 32803, performing specimen collection and processing.

You will handle patient specimens, ensure proper labeling, follow Safety policies, and support education for clinical staff. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with preferred phlebotomy training and certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent required.
• Technical/Vocational School preferred.
• Phlebotomy training program preferred.

Responsibilities

• May perform cytopreparatory staining and accessions surgical cases with knowledge of anatomy.
• May receive and set up primary specimen cultures, inoculating petri dishes for bacterial growth.
• Collects patient, physician, and test order information to create patient accounts.
• May perform blood specimen collection, including phlebotomy and skin puncture for all age groups.
• Loads preanalytical instruments or delivers specimens to the testing department.
• May perform point of care testing, and associated quality control, maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation and result reporting.
