Qualifications

• 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• NRP must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• RN licensure in Texas or compact state.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care within the RN scope.
• Use therapeutic communication in daily practice.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Plan, implement and direct care with nursing process focus.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Promote respect for patients' lifestyle, religion, and culture.
• Maintain age-appropriate care for all patients.
• Advocate for patients and educate families throughout care continuum.
• Delegate tasks to appropriate staff levels.
• Supervise new employees and nursing students.
