Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT, is seeking a laboratory professional to join our Automated Lab Team. You will perform high complexity testing without direct supervision in a hospital setting, handling labeling, centrifugation, and sample storage.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science, strong communication skills, and the ability to work 40 hours on night shift with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological science required.
• Lab experience preferred, but not required.
• Excellent communication skills (direct telephone) to interact with patients and health care team.
• Analytical ability to collect information from diverse sources and report results.
• Motor skills to perform delicate tasks and operate instruments.

Responsibilities

• Moderate and high complexity tests using various lab techniques.
• Perform tests per established procedures with accuracy and precision.
• Develop knowledge of instrumentation, procedures and processes.
• Perform maintenance with proper documentation.
• Assist overall operation of lab services per policies and regulations.
• Manage inventory of reagents and QC materials to ensure adequacy.
• Analyze patient specimens within required turnaround times.
