Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a Lab Technician to support our night shift production, providing timely analytical testing data to quality and production teams. You will perform sampling of raw materials and in-process and finished products, calibrate instruments, maintain records, and report non-conformities to ensure product safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 1 year of food manufacturing experience, preferably in a laboratory or quality assurance function.
• Some college science and math courses or an associate degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform sampling of raw materials and in-process and finished products.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
• Wash lab utensils and glassware.
• Prepare and stock reagents and media.
• Maintain monitoring records of all lab analytical testing.
• Report non-compliant laboratory testing results.
• Receive, stock and inventory lab supplies and reagents.
• Perform chemical, physical and microbiological testing of raw materials, in process and finished products.
• Maintain laboratory reports in a timely, accurate and legible manner.
• Maintain the laboratory and associated areas in an orderly and clean manner.
• Follow all plant and corporate policies.
• Adhere to DFA Food Safety and Quality policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
• Adhere to DFA Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
• Adhere to DFA GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
• Report plant conditions that may result in non-compliance with standards and specifications.
• Other duties as assigned by the Lab / QC Supervisor.
