Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Post-secondary education in food science, biology, or related sciences preferred
• 1–3 years of food manufacturing, laboratory, food testing, quality assurance, and/or related work experience
• Certification and/or license may be required during course of employment such as Better Processing Certificate or state certification for antibiotic testing

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality of batch preparation and QC activities, including process inspection and evaluation
• Test incoming/outgoing products for suitability and compliance
• Perform sample setup, preparation and clean-up
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation
• Notify supervisor of out-of-range values and monitor quality problems
• Maintain lab records and data entry
• Prepare reports of results
• Monitor process control by generating statistical information
• Participate in meetings and suggest efficiency improvements
• Daily cleaning and CIP procedures; wash lab utensils and glassware
• Maintain safe working conditions and regulatory compliance
• Follow GMP and corporate requirements
