Job summary

Barnes Jewish Hospital is seeking a Lab Supervisor to lead daily operations, QA/QC, and equipment maintenance in a high-demand clinical laboratory setting. You will manage first-level supervision, scheduling, coaching, and staff development to meet department goals.

The role requires a BS in a physical or life science, ASCP or equivalent, and 2+ years of experience with supervisory responsibilities. Strong leadership and Regulatory compliance focus are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in a physical or life science related field.
• ASCP or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience.
• Supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages staff by hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and developing coaching plans.
• Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets; responds to changes impacting budget goals.
• Supervises lab activities and maintains par levels of supplies; ensures procedures are performed accurately and timely.
• Keeps abreast of new developments and updates procedures for assigned areas as needed.
• Schedules staff and assigns work to ensure prompt, proficient, and accurate lab procedures.
• Establishes systems to streamline tasks and reduce waste; oversees daily operations and administrative aspects.
• Monitors test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure quality and proper corrective actions.
