Qualifications

• 1+ year of relevant healthcare experience
• High School Grad or Equivalent
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program (preferred)
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
• Knowledge of laboratory tests and specimen handling

Responsibilities

• May perform point of care testing and quality control
• Answer telephone, perform clerical and receptionist duties
• Process blood specimens and prepare them for testing
• Transport hazardous waste per training and safety policies
• Collect patient and test information, verify identity and insurance
• May perform phlebotomy on all age groups
• Receive, process and transport patient specimens
• Operate preanalytical instruments and load them for testing
• Train new staff and students as needed
• Handle customer service issues within guidelines
