Job summary

AP Health is seeking a highly experienced Physician Assistant or Surgical Assistant to join our team in the greater Nashville area. The role focuses on surgical first assist in labor and delivery, with at least 2+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of first assist experience in labor and delivery.
• Current State License or national surgical assistant certification.
• Board certified by NCCPA.
• Active BLS and ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room
• Positions and drapes the patient under the direction of the surgeon
• Suturing and retracting of all tissue layers
• Assists in the intra-operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned
• Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations
• Rotating on-call responsibilities
